Nathalie Parain

  Born in Kiev in 1897, Nathalie Parain studied at the Vkhutemas in Moscow. In the 1920s she moved to Paris with her husband, the philosopher Brice Parain. Inspired by constructivist theories, poster design and education, she started dedicating herself to illustration for children. In 1930 he illustrated Mon chat (My cat) written by André Beucler and published by Gallimard. Then she met the publisher and pedagogue Paul Faucher who offered her to illustrate for Les albums du Père Castor. Today Nathalie Parain is considered one of the major artists. It still has a great influence on contemporary children's picture books. It is the first definitive monograph on Nathalie Parain. It brings together illustrations, excerpts from books and unpublished material. Interviews with her daughter and texts written by children's literature experts offer insightful perspectives on her work.

Genevieve Tsai

  Genevieve Tsai is an artist and the supervising character designer for the Animaniacs reboot. Gus Bofa

  Gus Bofa (born Charles Blanchot) (23 May 1883 in Brive-la-Gaillarde – 1 September 1968) was a French illustrator, known for his work on satirical newspapers and erotic novels. Son of Colonel Charles Blanchot (1834-1918), of whom he was the 11th and penultimate child, he spent his childhood in Bordeaux then moved to Paris (his father was appointed military commander of the Senate) where he enrolled at the Lycée Henri - IV, establishment where he met André Dunoyer de Segonzac and Maurice Constantin-Weyer who would remain his closest friends. It was at the early age of five that he invented his artist name, Gus Bofa. After a few years as an engineer, he launched into posters and took part in Le Rire, then Le Sourire and La Petite Sirène. He also designs costumes and sets for the theatre. During the First World War he composed the covers of the magazine La Baïonnette. Between the wars, he collaborated with the monthly Le Crapouillot.

Russell Patterson

Russell Patterson (December 26, 1893 – March 17, 1977) was an American cartoonist, illustrator and scenic designer. Patterson's art deco magazine illustrations helped develop and promote the idea of the 1920s and 1930s fashion style known as the flapper. He studied architecture briefly at McGill University, then became an undistinguished cartoonist for some newspapers in Montreal, contributing Pierre et Pierrette to La Patrie. Rejected by the Canadian army at the start of World War I, he moved to Chicago to become a catalog illustrator. His early career included interior design for department stores like Carson Pirie Scott & Company and Marshall Field. Max Prentis

  Max Prentis is a freelance illustrator specializing in character-driven digital and ink illustrations. He’s a Sydney born ( currently based in London ,UK ) and e ncouraged by his parents, he has carried on his passion for drawing since he was a child and studied illustration. After graduating he started sharing his work on social media and in 2016 he started his own business. Max has collaborated with brands such as Intel, Google, Nike and Avex, as well as animation studios such as Goldenwolf, Cartoon Network and Nexus. He also assisted musician Tokimonsta's in the making of her Grammy nominated album "Lune Rouge". Max is ispired by pop culture, cartoons and comics.
